MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the most vibrant departments in the Institute. Our highly qualified faculty and excellent support staff drive department activities through their reaching, diverse research program in mechanical engineering applications. The students are exposed to real life problems and encouraged to find solutions through innovative use of technology.

This branch is usually termed as Evergreen Branch because it provides employment to almost every mechanical Engineer. Due to continuous demand and recruitments from the industrial sector as well as the Research and Development area, Mechanical Engineers work in the areas of machine design of machines, modification of existing design, maintenance production, CAD/CAM, Robotics, oil and gas sector, steel structure, bridges etc.

The Mechanical department has Metrology and Quality Control Lab, Theory of Machines Lab, Fluid Mechanics Lab, Engineering Mechanics Lab, Automobile Engineering Lab, Workshop, strength of material Lab, Mechanical Measurement Lab, Engineering Metrology Lab etc.

PSO1 Use latest Mechanical engineering related software for simple design, drafting, manufacturing , maintenance and documentation of mechanical engineering components and processes.

PSO2 Maintain and select Appropriate machine, equipment and instrument in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

PSO3 Manage the mechanical process by selection and scheduling right type of machinery, equipment, quality control techniques, operational parameters and software for a particular mechanical process or job for economy of operations.
